Sixth Grade Independent Studies

The Sixth grade Independent Study project is the capstone experience for our students after many years of inquiry-based learning. Traditionally, the weeks of hard work culminate in our Sustainability Expo, where community members come learn from the students about their topics and their process, and see their finished work.

Each student works closely with their teachers, as well as Meghan, and Kyle, to create eBooks that demonstrate the depth and breadth of their studies. They worked with Meghan while designing their books and were challenged to think about how to visually communicate their ideas and research in a clear and compelling manner. Students thought about how composition, typography, illustrations and photography could work together to build cohesive eBooks that reflect what they learned about their topics.
