Cold Spring School is looking to hire Associate Teachers in multiple mixed grade classrooms across the school (K-6) for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Associate Teacher position is ideal for individuals beginning their career as educators who wish to gain valuable professional experience. Associate Teachers will be paired with a full-time Head Teacher in a mixed age classroom for up to 2 academic years. Under the guidance of their Head Teacher and in collaboration with administrators and the Special Area staff, Associate Teachers are responsible for many aspects of school life.
On a daily basis Associate Teachers will:
- Work directly with students in small and whole group academic settings
- Participate in the planning and implementation of instruction across content areas
- Collaborate with Head Teacher to analyze student growth and adjust instruction accordingly
- Implement differentiated instruction methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Manage transitions between classes
- Provide student support during independent work time
- Assist with classroom routines and organization, including materials management
- Develop strong and meaningful relationships with students and their families
- Document student growth
- Communicate regularly with Head Teachers and families
- Model positive behaviors and language
- Lead extended day programming from 3:00 - 5:30
