We know that there is a significant financial component to attending an independent school, and we acknowledge with great respect the effort and sacrifice many families make to provide their children with a Cold Spring School education.

One of the most genuine ways that any independent school can demonstrate its commitment to equity is through the kind of financial aid it provides. This could not be more true at Cold Spring. Economic diversity of the student body is of utmost priority to Cold Spring, and we have always been proud to be able to provide a large percentage of our families with need-based financial aid. Every family at Cold Spring contributes to the cost of tuition and fees, thereby supporting the community to the extent individual family circumstances permit.

Financial Aid

Since its founding, Cold Spring School has been deeply committed to enrolling children from a spectrum of economic backgrounds with both need-based financial assistance and payment plan options. To this end, over 44% of the current Cold Spring students receive some degree of financial assistance that varies from 5% to 95% of the tuition. Cold Spring School offers tuition assistance to qualified students on the basis of demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Financial assistance is allocated on a yearly basis and is renewable each year that a family qualifies. Additionally, families that receive financial assistance towards tuition also receive financial assistance for the school's Extended Day Program and Summer Program.

Cold Spring School’s financial aid awards are grants, not loans, and therefore, do not need to be paid back to the school.
