Finding a Fisherman

We splashed through the mud until we found an opening in the brush. We stopped. Sea Lavender! Sea Lavender is on the protected plants list and we got to see it.
Were very happy to find that some salt marsh plants had grown on the river's edge. We had to wade through the spartina alternaflora grass to get to the river for water testing.
The bluefish is a fish that can bite. When we saw it, it was still breathing. The fishermansaid, "Don't get too close." The fish was about two feet long. He was going to have it for supper.
We were later delighted to see a fisherman with a giant bluefish. He said that there are lots of bluefish and stripers. We think that the pollution on the river must be getting lower if fish are living there. Another way we knew was the pH was only a little under perfect.
