Soil Testing

Changing Our Plans

After calling a couple of soil-testing sites, we settled on the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station. A soil sample from the garden area was tested for both nutrients and contaminants. We only got the nutrients information back. After many more phone calls, we got the contaminants results. We were disappointed to learn that there was some lead in the soil. We covered the soil with heavy landscape fabric and decided to research a raised bed design.
