Spring Concert
The students will be performing the same concert on two dates: Tuesday, May 22, and Wednesday, May 23.
Sunscreen Notice
Children at Cold Spring School usually spend time outdoors at least once a day. With warmer weather and stronger sunlight, the Center for Disease Control and the National Institute of Health encourage the use of sunscreen for students.
6th Grade Handiwork
The Sixth Graders have completed work on their "practice" picnic table. It came out pretty well, too. Next week they will construct the real deal. The table they build next week will go home with the high bidder at next Saturday's Cold Spring School Auction. If you want to see the results of their handiwork, come into the Pear Tree Yard and have a seat. Bring a snack and enjoy a picnic.

K/1 Field Day
Gerry would like to thank Chris, Toni and the 6th grade class for their assistance with the K/1 Field Day yesterday - from set-up, running the events to clean-up - Gerry couldn't do it without you. Also, thanks to Annie for taking pictures of the event! Look for those on the Photo-Vue in the coming weeks.
Preschool Pet Rock Stories
The children were very busy with their rock study this week. They went on a rock hunt and collected many different sized rocks, they made pet rocks, wrote stories about them, and created beautiful sand paintings. Below are some stories the children wrote about their rocks.

RAIN DATE-SPRING CLEAN UP ON SUNDAY, APRIL 1
It appears Mother Nature is not going to be in her best mood on Saturday for our spring clean up. Reluctantly, Paula and Penny have decided to move it up to the next day, Sunday, April 1 from 10 to noon.
Flat Stanleys
Laura & Maryanne's K/1 class is beginning a project based on the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. This is a picture of the students all holding the Flat Stanleys they made before they are sent to friends far and wide!
New Art Exhibit in Stairwell
In conjunction with their thematic study of Immigration, the children made collages using a variety of Asian papers as homage to their fictional Chinese ancestors before leaving for America.
SPRING CLEAN-UP AND WORK DAY: SATURDAY, MARCH 31
Paula Coyne and Penny Serafin are looking for volunteers to help plant early spring flowers and to clean up the landscaped bed alongside the Art Studio on Saturday, March 31, from 10 am to 12:00 pm.

The Sixth Graders would like to remind you that, due to a quirk of the calendar, next Wednesday, March 7 is NOT a Pizza Day. The next scheduled Pizza Day is Wednesday, March 14.
EcoMUVE
The two 4/5 classes joined forces to investigate the forest ecosystems of Dover Island and Willis Island, a virtual world created by EcoMUVE, an exciting new curriculum research project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education that Cold Spring is piloting.
