| This scud is turning orange because it's near death or unhealthy. When scuds are gray then they are healthy. | Scud's eyes are very sensitive to light. They try to stay in dark places during the day like under rocks. During the night they are very active. | Scuds eat pieces of dead animals and plants. They grow up to 25mm but we found mostly small ones at our location. Scuds are classified as crustaceans. They have a hard outer shell. A lot of us think that they look a lot like baby shrimp. |
